In celebration of the launch of Darcy Ottey’s first book, Rites and Responsibilities: A Guide to Growing Up, join us for an evening of speakers, performance, song, and community discussion. Together we will convene in a gathering of local activists, educators, and community leaders who are dedicated to regenerating cultural practices for healing and justice. We want you there!
Hosted by Youth Passageways, Young Warrior Society, Queer Nature, Northwest Outward Bound School, the Methow Valley Interpretive Center, and Western Washington University’s Sustainability Pathways Program, this evening-length community event will be designed around these intentions:
Bringing together local and regional groups dedicated to regenerating practices for healing, transformation, and justice (particularly for young people).
Fostering intergenerational culture-building toward healing and transformation, centering youth.
Listening for how each of us can be part of revitalizing cultural practices for healing and transformation.
Amplifying and celebrating Rites & Responsibilities, a book Darcy Ottey spent the last decade-plus working to bring to physical form
Mobilizing resources for important youth-serving efforts, in the spirit of mutual support, equity, & reparations
5:30pm - 6:00pm PT: gather, food & beverages, socialize
6:00pm - 8:00pm PT: speakers, performers, song, and discussion
